125g butter
250ml sugar
2 eggs
½ tsp almond essence
250ml cake flour
Almond slivers
castor sugar for sprinkling
Method
- Cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add the eggs and then flour and mix well.
- Take care not to over mix.
- Pour mixture into a greased pie dish and sprinkle almonds on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C.
- Sprinkle some castor sugar on top while still hot (optional).
