HOMEMADE GINGER BEER

This homemade refreshing ginger beer is perfect for a hot day!

Ingredients

4.5 litres water
500ml white sugar
30g root ginger, crushed
15ml active dry yeast


Method
  • Boil the water in a pot on the stove.
  • Add the ginger and sugar.
  • Remove from the stove and cool till lukewarm.
  • Add the yeast and cover for 1 - 2 days.
  • Strain the ginger beer and bottle in sterilised bottles and seal.
  • Refrigerate and serve chilled, will keep in the fridge for a week.
